have found another Alexander with a son named Alexander as well that may
or may not be his father. He married Julia Abrams in 1867, he may have

1842, I think in Georgia. On 2/27/1861 he enlisted as a private in Co. M,
1st. Georgia Regulars, Confederate States Army. He served thru the entire
Civil War & was paroled by the Union Army on 5/23/1865 in Augusta, GA.
He subsequently married Sarah Catharine Back (1852-1927) in Kentucky. They
apparently lived around Wilmore, KY. This marriage produced 7 sons: John
D. Parr 6/21/1868; William J. 3/21/1870; Edward D. 11/29/1876; Louis A.
3/5/18?; Thomas dob unk; Vaughnie M. (my grandfather) 12/20/1882 and Alvin
D. 7/30/1884. The entire "clan" relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio sometime
around the turn of the century most of them residing on Isabella St. in
The Hyde Park/Oakley area of Cinti. More recently, The linage goes from my
grandfather to my father, Edward Eugene Parr (1905-1955), to myself Donald
Edward Parr, born 10/2/1929 then to my 3 sons Michael E., Daniel L. &
Timothy P. Any info on Alvin D, who is buried in Pleasant Ridge
Presbyterian Church Cemetary in Cinti. as a confederate veteran will be

Parr (born 4 January 1824 at Waterbeach Cambridge, England) had his
picture taken when he was 85 years old at Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I also have
a picture with the caption, "another son of Hattie Diekls (Pickle ?) uncle
George Parrs daughter." That picture was also at Cedar Rapids, but in a
different style and had the phographer "Kadgihn Studio" embossed on it.
That's all I have on the family of George Parr, I am interested in finding
out more of George and his family.

1) Per National Park service Civil War soldiers #824 Parr,John Company A,B 8th. Battalion, Georgia Infantry in as Private Out as Private.
2) In the Index to Georgia Confederate Pension Files page #740 - J.D.Parr , srv Co. B. 8th.GA. see Mrs. M.E. Mooney wid of Floyd Co. GA.
3) J.D.Parr married Mary Elizabeth Patterson b.1843 d.May 10 1933 on April 19 1860. She 2nd. married Horace G. Mooney Dec.15 1870.
4) John D. Parr and Mary Elizabeth Patterson Parr had two children.Ella Parr b.1860/61 married B.J.Trammel and Montie Laura Parr b.Oct. 15 1862 d. Aug.8 1940 married John Lawson McAfee my grandfather.
5) John D. Parr enlisted May 2 1862 died of fever in hospital in Charleston SC Sep. 17 1862 and was sent home dead. One month before 2nd. daughter born.
I am unable to find where John D. Parr is buried or marrage license or birth certificates I only have pension application. Would appreciate any information or the above info entered on your excellent web site. Byron Ames in Henderson Nevada

I can link myself to a Parr family in New Jersey from 1848 - Oliver B Parr 's born in 1848 parents were Thomas and Charlotte. Living in Middelsex county New Jersey. Oliver was married twice: Augustinia and Harriett. He lived in Bayonne also.
Children of Oliver and Aigustinia were: John O. - born 1869; Emma L. - born 1871; Augustus - born 1873; Franklin - born 1875; Oscar D. - born 1878 and died 1963; and Thomas C. born 1879. Then at some point Oliver married Hattiet (Hattie Rogers) and they had - Olivia, Harriett, Oliver, Stanley, and Florence. Olivia was my great grandmother.
